You are passionate about the law and Renewable Energy; you understand and have worked with the laws that pertain to Renewable Energy projects. You love nothing more than getting involved in all aspects of projects from a legal perspective. You love working in a broad legal role that is both strategic, as well as hands-on.

 

What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

You will be assisting the Head of Legal on legal, commercial, and contractual aspects relating to the engineering, procurement, development, and construction of Renewable Energy projects.

 

You will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating EPC and O&M Contracts/Subcontracts. Provide legal support to Project Bid Submissions and Closure of Project/ You will perform due diligence reviews of projects for the purpose of sale. Bid or acquisition and will assist with tenders and bid submissions.

 

Where you’ll be doing it

You will be working for a leading international developer in the Renewable Energy sector with offices in the heart of Cape Town.

 

What you’ll need

You will need an LLB, with an LLM in commercial law or an MBA being an advantage. You need to be an Admitted Attorney with 5 years or more post article experience in Corporate Commercial and/or Construction Law, preferably in-house. Experience in Energy, Renewable Energy, Projects and Project Finance as well as, and knowledge of REIPPP and energy regulation would be an advantage.
