Description

urpose of the role:

To work with, coordinate, communicate, and provide pro-active support in assisting the Country Managers, Key Management Staff, Financial Officers and Executive Management of the company to ensure the smooth running of all insurance requirements and functions for all Companies at Group-level and Operating Subsidiary-level in each active territory. Review of contracts to establish insurance risks, exposures and requirements to keep the company fully protected and Management appraised.

Duties & Responsibilities

Liaise, communicate and coordinate with company’s appointed advisors and consultants including:

  • insurance brokers, loss adjusters, surveyors, insurers, underwriters and other parties as required - handle and manage renewals, endorsements, insurance of any new property or acquisition, protection of all assets,
  • arrange compulsory country insurances, staff & liability insurances, - report, notify and monitor all claims, manage claims and provide regular reports until settled,
  • attend surveys,
  • arrange in-house on-site training with development & knowledge-sharing workshops,
  • manage risk management functions and processes,
  • role will include all inter-company & inter-departmental insurance & claims functions on a day-to –day basis
  • Be a knowledgeable technical insurance resource for all branches in the Group in each Country.
  • Coordinate and liaise with company’s lnsurance Dept. locally and oversees on a regular basis and provide reports and updates as needed.

 

Job Role & Description

  1. Act as a strong resource within the company and a reference point in the group for all insurance & risk management matters including protections of all assets, earnings, liabilities and employee benefits with advice on coverage and handle and advice in relation to claims.
  2. Be responsible for organising all work assignments and tasks to make process smooth and efficient with regular reporting to line management
  3. Ensure that all operations are carried out within assigned budgets and flagging any problems or issues early
  4. Ensure that the KPI's established for the department and insurance function as a whole and the direct reports are monitored and provided regularly or on monthly/ quarterly (as agreed) basis with reasons for any variances.
  5. Under the direction of the Manager lnsurance assume direct responsibility for handling the day to day insurance needs of all aspects of the company in all operating countries & companies

 

 

Desired Experience & Qualification

Qualifications, experience and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree majoring in Business / Economics/Insurance or any other related discipline with 5 years’ experience in lnsurance.
  • Insurance CIP, ACll or equivalent. If part qualified will need to complete qualification as a performance related KPl.
  • A good knowledge of processes and practices involved in the management of a Group business with several operating companies across different countries.
  • A good working knowledge of the standard insurance wordings applicable to such businesses for property, machinery breakdown, business interruption, construction/ erection, motor, marine cargo/storage risks, stock throughput and third-party liability.
  • Hands on experience of managing significant claims for major Groups.
  • Experience with contract review and identifying insurance needs arising therefrom.
  • A good knowledge of the in-country insurance laws and regulations would be advantageous
