Currently looking for a Senior Engineer: Datacentre Operations to  perform the below duties

• Responsible for equipment maintenance tasks such as managing and installing custom upgrades, replacing cables, components and accessories;
• Maintaining records and drawing schematics of the centre to detail what equipment is installed.
• Plan for capacity changes,
• Maintaining corporate databases and ensuring compliance with government regulations.
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures.
• Develop, improve, and share operational best practices across the Cluster
• Responsible for Cost efficiency, Outage management, Change management and Compliance within Data Centre
• Recommends, plans and implements equipment needs to improve production efficiency and/or achieve cost reduction
• Responsible for ensuring all Security policies are being adhered to achieve/maintain compliance
• Prepare plans and documents related to data centre expansion or additions
• Provide new data centre construction with the right business requirements and documentation
• Assess any current hardware for proper compliance and standards
• Oversee any construction for expansions
• Evaluate the best practices for design and maintenance
• Document budget and cost concerns for maintaining data
• Monitor all equipment for security threat

Minimum requirements- not negotiable

Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, or Informatics, or Engineering, or Information Systems, or other relevant qualification at NQF6;
MCSE Certification: Core Infrastructure and Productivity

7+ years in the ICT industry
5+ years in server architectures
5+ years in installation of server and storage hardware
5+ years in administration and support of Microsoft active directory domains, virtualisation Hyper-V and various server applications
5+ years in the virtualised environment
3+ years in administration and support of Web proxy and monitoring tools
5+ years in Microsoft Failover Clustering
5+ years in patch management, backup and recovery
