Description
RESPONSIBILITIES
The incumbent will be required to plan, control and manage daily cleaning operations and optimum use of material and human resources.
The Sector Manager will be responsible for the following:
- Manage daily activities of cleaning staff;
- Plan, organise and direct staff to ensure the highest degree of customer satisfaction;
- Management of disciplinary procedures;
- Client service: Evaluate customer requirements and ensure that these are met;
- Inspections: Daily inspections of dedicated facilities, record findings and rectify deviances from specifications;
- Manage of special events;
- Provision off and managing consumables and equipment;
- Train and teach new employees.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12;
- One year post matric certificate;
- Health and Safety Certificate;
- Five Years relevant cleaning experience with experience in management/supervision.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):
- Knowledge of cleaning cycle and procedures;
- Knowledge of cleaning products application and hazardous products;
- Knowledge and experience to operate cleaning equipment;
- Management /supervision/leadership skills;
- Good time management skills;
- Basic English comprehension and writing skills;
- Basic Computer skills;
- Show initiative;
- Being proactive;
- Flexible;
- Ability to interact with a wide variety of individuals;
- Motivating, developing and directing personnel;
- Administrative skills;
- Ability to work unsupervised in a team environment.
ADDED ADVANTAGES AND PREFERENCES:
- Three years’ experience in management/supervision.
SALARY DETAILS
The annual remuneration package will be commensurate with the incumbent’s level of appointment, as determined by UP policy guidelines. UP subscribes to the BESTMED medical aid scheme and contributes 50% of the applicable monthly premium.
