Main purpose of the job
Reporting to the General Manager, the incumbent will be responsible to manage the national sales of the company’s cleaning products and services, while ensuring consistent, profitable growth in sales revenues.
Education and experience required:
- Matric
- A National Diploma in Sales and Marketing
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a product and service environment – preferably cleaning industry
- Experience in selling cleaning products /similar services would be an advantage
- At least 3 years’ experience within a Retail environment
- At least 5 years’ experience within the Food Services Industry
- At least 4 to 5 years related experience in a Sales Supervisory or Management position
- Proven Sales Track Record
- Recent attendance of Sales Seminars, conferences or workshops
Knowledge Skills and Competencies required:

- Knowledge of the Bidding process particular to South African markets

Key areas of responsibilities:
- Managers Pre-Sale, Sale and Post Sale process
- Performs sales activities on major accounts and negotiates pricing and discounts in consultation with Commercial and Contracts teams
- Accurately forecasts annual, quarterly and monthly revenue streams
- Develops specific plans to ensure revenue growth in all company products
- Provides quarterly results of sales productivity
- Manages national sales database and build rapport with top echelon decision makers
- Collaborates with Operations and Retention to develop national sales strategies to improve market share in all product lines
- Interprets short- and long-term effects on sales strategies in operating profit
- Grow national sales of emerging products
- Grow multi-product sales
- Manages allocated budget for national sales promotions and trade shows
- Review expenses and recommend economies
- Facilitate process to mobilise with Operations and other relevant teams
- Working with a defined sales quota focusing on initiating relationships with multi-level decision-makers through various channels.
- Correctly costing new business, achieving the maximum margin on new business.
- Prepare quotes and/or proposals and presenting these to potential clients.
- Ensure a thorough handover of the new contract to operational staff in order to ensure business as usual in as short a time as possible.
- Operate effectively and efficiently in order to minimise the sales cycle turnaround time.
- Ensure management is kept informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly analysis.
- Assisting with the training of new sales staff.
- Develop, build and maintain strong relationships with potential customers
- Develop innovative and creative solutions to identify and develop new customers
- Proposes and closes sales that achieve set company target according to company policies and procedures
- Sustains sales activities; appointments, proposals, cold calls, database updates and reporting
