Our client based in Durban North is looking for a TI Report Writer and Developer to join their team

Main Purpose of Job:

• Data Analysis and Report Design:  Analyse data in the primary business applications to be used by relevant business departments and where relevant develop reports that the units can use on continuously.
• Maintain Data Integrity Between Systems:  Consolidate data from the various operational systems and develop automated routines to analyse the data and ensure that interfaces are transferring data accurately and completely between the systems.

Responsibilities to include:

Data Analysis and Report Design

• Analyse source data and identify trends or areas for improvement in the processing of data, the sales to customers or the maintenance of stock.
• Use data to identify areas where processes are inefficient or are not functioning.  In addition, identify new areas of focus for the business to improve sales, retain customers, increase basket sizes, and perform operational functions more efficiently and to mine customer data for possible promotions or sales events.
• Develop reports based on results of data analysis that can be used by management to monitor, manage or control business processes.
• Identify new areas of focus for the business to enhance.
• Develop mechanisms using consolidated data from various systems to identify populations of customers for promotional campaigns and then use customer data to notify the customers of the campaigns.
• Analyse trends in regions and within stores to allow the Merchandising Department to better assign stock to the store.

Maintain Data Integrity between Systems

• Consolidate data from various systems using data Extract, Transfer, Load (ETL) routines.
• Use consolidated data to ensure the integrity is maintained between systems.
• Develop automated routines that will alert IT of potential processing errors.

Other Duties

• Assist in regular IT Department duties where needed: support end users, answer queries, attend meetings, prepare for store openings, and attend store openings.
• Assist in the preparation, filing and storage of departmental documentation.
• Assist in the preparation of IT policies and procedures, IT checklists and other IT materials.

Key Skills:

• Strong SQL,  Microsoft Reporting Services and PowerBI skills or equivalent.
• Exceptional people skills.
