Description

The purpose of this position is to perform quality inspections on the outbound consolidation packaging process of client orders according to Customer packaging standards and client written procedures.

 

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • A Quality Controller must striveto be the ‘champion’ of improving output quality for our client and its customers by exercising good quality assurance practices, methods and effective control thereof in a proactive manner in the following key performance areas:Inspection of incoming packing material ordered for compliance to Client specification and standards.
  • Observe and Monitor the outbound activities by confirming that the process of packing of parcels are within set operational procedures.
  • Checking. Conduct on a daily basis frequent quality sample checks on pre-dispatch  parcels on confirmed orders picked and packed for customers ensuring correct quantities of items ordered, good condition of items packed and insertion of correct invoicing documentation and labelling of parcel.
  • NCR’s: Issue non-conformance reports to responsible persons on activities where deviation from procedures and standards are detected
  • Reporting: Ensure stock damage reports are completed and communicated to client.
  • Provide shift Supervisor and Contract Manager with timely reports on number of orders checked, compliance to quality standards and non-conformances observed and corrected.
  • Control recording and archiving of reporting documents on quality orders inspected for the day.
  • Compliance: Ensure the quality standards and requirements as per relevant SOP’s are a and maintained.
  • Client Satisfaction: Strive for zero order queries by putting in place good practices and handling methods for all orders confirmed and ready to be dispatched.
  • Training: Oversee that training of warehouse staff not adhering to SOPs in outbound are well equipped and able to execute quality work required, record training needs identified and correct behaviour, with assistance and support from trainer as and when required.
  • Communication – Performance standards, targets, expectations, company policies, site specific rules guiding the operations must be clearly communicated to all role-players within the process to ensure good comprehension of rules and messages.
  • Policies: Adherence and enforcements of company Policies and Procedures related to all operational disciplines, health and safety policy, site-specific rules on 5S standards applicable to housekeeping.
  • Relationships: Build good working relationships with all members in the team to uplift  morale and show transparency and fairness.
  • Participate and support continuous improvement of operational objectives.
  • Discipline: Ensure an uncompromising approach by all confirming process staff with regards to quality of work output. This can be achieved by ensuring recognized requirements are complied with at all times and nothing is done that may compromise the quality standards set to achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Continuously ensure Client Satisfaction of the company's services provided and maintain mutually conducive working relationships.
  • Maintaining focus on the optimised utilisation of production capacity and application of resources ensuring effective time management and manhour utilisation and careful handling of electronic equipment and items.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Clear criminal record
  • Proven experience in the e-commerce environment
  • Understanding of the SLA, KPA’s, KPI’s and SOP requirements
  • Planning, Organising and Coordinating
  • OH&S Act provisions and standards
