Job Description:

Job Purpose

Responsible for profit sales growth in project sales within the allocated region for all PAM product groups. (Soil Drain, Municipal Covers, Pipes, fittings and valves.

Qualifications required to fulfil the role

  • Matric
  • Degree BSc or Engineering (Civil or Mechanical Engineering)

Specific work experience, knowledge and skills required to fulfil the role

  • 5 years related experience in a project sales role with experience in promotion, advance selling, lobbying and specifying.
  • Experience in selling technical products in a competitive environment.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of stakeholders at all levels (contractors, engineers and government departments)
  • Ability to interpret technical data (BOQ, Drawings and Technical Data Sheets)
  • Excellent planning and organising skills
  • Good negotiations and presentation skills.
  • Innovative and persuasive.
  • Good networking and relationship building skills
  • Ability to work on long cycle sales
  • Traveling within South Africa will be required.
  • Computer Literate (Ms-Office, SAP, CRM)
  • Problem Solving

Roles and Responsibilities:

Key Accountabilities

  • Propose and execute our projects sales approach in the allocated region and identify the route to market.
  • Drive specification with end users, through numerous channels (meetings, presentation, seminar, case study, agents, lobbying, national standards, plant visits)
  • To help Engineering consultants and Architects with the appropriate design tools (TCO) that promotes the use of PAM products.
  • To build, manage and develop a commercial network made of commercial agent and/or distributors throughout the allocated region.
  • To assist in finalizing commercial negotiations with contractors such as financing, payment term and security, logistics.
  • Follow-through projects, from identification to operable order, invoicing and account receivable
  • Assist with market research/bench marking of the allocated regional market (competition, marketing, finance�?�)
  • To produce a monthly report of the activities, including report on customer visits, projects status
  • To prepare a reliable sales forecast by regularly updating the CRM.
  • Achieve and/or exceed budget expectations in terms of tonnes and profitability
  • Scheduling and planning of customer visits within the allocated region.
  • Manage sales enquiries by offering accurate quotations, lead times and invoices.
  • Keep abreast with any updates to mandatory compliance training via Boost (Principles of Conduct and Action, Attitudes, Anti-corruption training, Sanction and Embargoes
  • Prepare tender documents in accordance with the BOQ and all supporting documents.
  • Post-mortem analysis on lost orders.
  • Optimizing trips to meet major clients (Key Accounts, Water Boards, Municipalities), consultants, and contractors.
  • Arrange and co-ordinate internal and external product training to relevant stakeholders
