Description

A Non Profit Organisation, in Port Elizabeth is currently looking to employ a Programme Manager.

 

The Program Manger will report to the Director.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Social work qualification
  • 6 years management experience
  • Leadership and organisational skills (team management, conflict resolution)

 

Responsibilities:

Manage the professional Team:

  • Social Work Supervision
  • Multi-disciplinary team management
  • Childcare worker supervision (empowering campus supervisor to take on this responsibility)
  • Nurse support
  • Performance management and assessments

 

Stakeholder Management:

  • Department of Social Development reports, subsidy, meetings and engagements
  • Develop and maintain good relations with stakeholders involved in for childcare programs
  • Volunteers
  • Partnership networks

 

Therapy Program Management:

  • Recruitment, monitoring and evaluation of therapists for program
  • Manage and control related expenses
  • Disciplinary and behavioural management panels

 

Developmental / Educational Program Management:

  • Interactions with schools (principals)
  • Tutor program co-ordination
  • Supervise program assistant (activities, recreation, volunteers)

 

General Tasks:

  • Health and safety
  • Monthly reports
  • Independent living program
  • Advocacy for children
  • Assistant to director

  • Report writing
  • Stakeholder management
  • Multi-disciplinary team management
  • Excellent communication and problem solving ability
  • Dynamic ability to engage on different levels in the organisation

  • Empathy / altruism and some history of formal / informal involvement in charity
  • Well-developed and strong interpersonal skills: enjoys interacting with people and has aptitude for it i.e. ability to listen, communicate effectively, work collaboratively,
  • Embrace people of all races, ages and socio-economic background and ability to communicate with people from all spheres i.e. child to donor / cleaner to management committee member
  • Emotionally mature – high EQ: even tempered, ability to take criticism
  • Ability to deal with daily confrontation and conflict in a mature manner

  • Personal resourcefulness and good support system: work outside of office hours and over weekends
