Description
My client, a well-established company in the fruit industry, is seeking to employ a Production Supervisor to oversee the daily production and packing. Successful candidates must have his/her own reliable transport with a valid drivers’ license. A formal qualification in the field of production planning/management will be advantageous
Duties & Responsibilities
Duties:
- Effective daily supervision of the production of fruit and fruit juice concentrates in a controlled temperature environment. Accuracy and the adherence to set processes is non-negotiable
- A committed and very involved approach to oversee daily production runs
- The daily management of a production team
- Ensure that company guidelines, policies, target dates and KPI’s are adhered to and met
- The planning and execution of daily production runs to ensure daily targets are met
- The successful candidate must be extremely well organized administratively, with acute attention needed to administrative detail and accuracy
Requirements:
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to lead while instilling discipline
- Methods of management to ensure that systems, procedures and standards are set and maintained continuously
- The ability to function and excel in a very fast paced and high-volume environment
- The ability to efficiently, accurately and timeously communicate (verbally and electronically) on and with various levels within a company structure
- Organized neatness and cleanliness, accuracy and the pursuit of perfection must be personal attributes which must filter through and become evident in his/her daily routine and tasks
- Must be medically fit and healthy
- Must be fluent (verbal and writing) in both English and Afrikaans. A third African language would be advantageous
- An apt ability to use his/her own initiative in solving daily challenges, while remaining within company guidelines and processes
- A matric qualification with at least 5 years of production supervisory/management experience
- Computer literacy is essential. A workable understanding of the SAGE X3 stock management program would be an advantage
- A workable and clear understanding of food handling and all related processes applicable in a food safety accredited company
- His/her own reliable transport with a code 08 license
- Preferably resides in the Helderberg area
