Description
Douglas, Northern Cape: Our client is looking for a production consultant to join their team! Our client is an agricultural production company, which has a network of growers / clients / advisers / experts, who do specialised productions in different climate topographies to support both their clients and their growers in their company's long-term needs.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Give technical advice regarding crop cultivation
- Perform monitoring/technical advice duties efficiently and on time
- Provide quick, thorough and clear feedback if the execution of work is not to your liking
- Responsible for the contracting of the crops and to communicate about the contract requirements
- Responsible for logistical planning, as well as following up on execution and progress
- Take charge of quality management and ensure that all risks around crops are covered and meet the contractual requirements.
- Responsible for risk management
- Ensure thorough record-keeping and reporting on the crop
- Ensure punctual and clear feedback on the progress of the crop
- Ensure punctual and clear feedback on the progress of the cleaning to the grower
- Ensure processes and protocols are followed and strive to continuously improve the processes
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Minimum experience of 10 years in agriculture
- If not above, a degree in an agricultural field
- Drivers license
- Fully bilingual - English and Afrikaans
- Good communication skills
- Excellent health
- Knowledge and experience in the following areas: crop diseases, weeds, ground, water, spray equipment, fertilizers, plant biology and administration
If the above points are already in place, the following must be in place within 2 years:
- SANSOR course successfully passed
- 1-year practical training
- Phyto land inspections exam
- Phyto land inspections pass practically
- Understand and be able to implement internal protocols
