Duties & Responsibilities
Support Procurement & Inventory Manager in developing strategic/ operating plans for the Country
• Effectively manage day-to-day management of key accounts, resolving supplier concerns / contractual issues / review contractual obligations of the suppliers via KPIs / SLAs written within the contracts (global and local)
• Support embedding of best practices, minimum standards, policies, processes, tools, technology and enablers through the Procurement Way and capability development strategy
• Manage and validate vendor master and obtain up to-date management information by vendor to analyse spend and identify trends and potential savings opportunities
• Ensure required procurement processes are followed when initiating the required commercial processes
• Ensure that the system and files are updated with the most current (and approved) pricing
• Input into cost reduction / optimisation opportunities within the category and local based on outcome of spend analysis
• Track application of contracts by reviewing surcharge indices, coordinating planning and performing monthly reconciliation
• Source one-offs purchases requested by end users
• Execute and apply all relevant contracts negotiated at Group and local level (compliance)
• Own and manage RFQ / tender process (incl. bid document preparation) for all local arrangements
• Ensure buying process is procedurally compliant and documentation for audit and SHERQ purposes are available
• Review and recommend solutions to optimise vendor performance across categories
• Apply a total cost of ownership (TCO) mindset and system based approach to identifying value and mapping opportunities on a risk vs complexity scale
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement across Procurement
• Actively facilitate supplier development and continuous improvement initiatives which support ongoing local Procurement strategy
• Lead the buying team to ensure compliance to governance requirements and optimisation of procurement performance
• Manage the performance and development of the Procurement team
• Develop and manage positive and strategic relationships with vendors
• Build an efficient Buying network, dynamically aligned with respective category management
• Resolve issues with suppliers in conjunction with end user
• Negotiate local contracts and approve prices, delivery and payment terms, quality requirements to meet standards and supply objectives
• Interface with business and other stakeholders to actively manage demand forecasting, production planning & ensure compliance to contracts and price agreements
Minimum specifications / Requirements areas
• Relevant 3 year degree/diploma (B Com, Engineering, BSc)
7 years Procurement / Purchasing / Supply chain management experience
• Strong technical knowledge and understanding of Procurement processes and Supply Chain management ; proven leadership ability
