Description

The purpose of the Procurement and Planning Manager is to ensure the company’s operations are timely, efficient, and cost-effective. The successful candidate will manage all demand planning duties as well as costing activities and act as a company representative while negotiating contracts and supplier policies.
To succeed in this role, the candidate should be professional, highly-analytical, and possess excellent communication skills. The successful candidate should also have an in-depth knowledge of advanced mathematical and forecasting policies.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for demand planning for entire Prescription portfolio.
  • Manage inventory in line with business requirements and working capital.
  • Drive improvements in stockholding by managing overstocks and out of stocks.
  • Responsible for monthly standard costing updates in Oracle, cost rolls ups and changes to costings during the month.
  • Maintenance of item costs on the system (price updates, supplier updates, new items and discontinuation of items) and liaising with relevant departments (sales, procurement and IT) where necessary to ensure accuracy of information.
  • Develop effective forecast models based on industry trends and demand patterns, as well as continuous improvement in the process to improve forecast accuracy.
  • Monitor, interrogate and report on important changes in sales forecasts, budgets, and business strategies.
  • Manage monthly forecast process with relevant stakeholders.
  • Prepare risk assessments and mitigation activities.
  • Manage ongoing continuous improvement projects including minimum order quantity analysis and product cost reductions.
  • Other tasks, as may be required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain or other relevant fields.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a demand planning/forecasting role.
  • Experience with product costing, and procurement cost optimisation.
  • Solid understanding of inventory management practices and procedures.
  • Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge.
  • Capability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
