Description
Well known FMCG Company in the Food Industry based in durban has a vacancy for a Process engineer who will investigate and identify opportunities to improve quality, effeciencies and plant output.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible person in terms of Hazardous Chemical Substances Regulations
- Improvement Projects:
- Projects identified at Weekly Operations Meeting / Quality Meeting.
- Implement Six Sigma methodology for Improvement Projects.
- Participate and lead HAZOP and HACCP studies.
- Use Modprop to document projects.
- Ensure all documentation provided / updated at completion of project.
- Ensure all relevant plant personnel trained in new process following project change.
- Conduct Mass and Energy balances around:
- Analyse information to identify opportunities to improve efficiencies.
- Benchmark against Lallemand plants.
- Expert knowledge of all plant processes.
- Identify recurring troublesome production problems. Propose and implement process changes where agreed.
- Assist production to resolve processing challenges timeously.
- Train technicians in process operation as required.
- Plant Variable costs: Monitor plant raw material usages as per weekly reports, Validate usages of concern with process data and Identify causes of deviations and recommended / implement changes.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- BSc Chemical Engineering degree or equivalent.
- 2-5 years process experience in analytical and problem solving field or disciplines - chemical / manufacturing.
- Good understanding of process in related fermentation / distilling /baking industry LEAN Manufacturing, TPM or 6 Sigma.
Package & Remuneration
R 450 000/Per Annum CTC
