We are inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Plumber/Handyman at our client's Packhouse (Maintenance team) in Addo.

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 10/Std. 8 with Mathematics and English an advantage.
• Plumbing certificate or trade test qualification.
• Minimum of ten years' previous experience in the building/construction environment.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English
• Must demonstrate technical ability and plumbing trade knowledge (must be able to read drawings/blueprints)
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements.

• Willingness to work overtime at short notice when required.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
• Ability to mentor and guide colleagues/assistants.

• Helping where needed and carrying out any reasonable instructions from maintenance foreman.
• Must have a high level of reliability and accountability.
• Code B (08) driver’s license.

The main areas of responsibility will include:

• Performing plumbing/handyman tasks associated with general maintenance and new projects work.
• Operation of electrical hand tools and machinery.
• Ensure that all installations comply with the OHS Act, Quality and Environmental standards and general building regulations.
• Establish sound working relationships with stakeholders including production staff, tenants and service providers (contractors).
• Ensuring that the maintenance area is kept clean and safe.
• Draw up a material list and obtain quotes from suppliers.
• Ability to operate within a maintenance/project budget.
