Description
My client is an award-winning company with a very reputable and well-known brand across the world, with international distribution channels.
They need an enthusiastic, hardworking and dedicated Sales Distribution Centre Assistant to join their team in the Durban Central area.
This is on a part-time/casual working basis and you would work around 3 days per week.
You have got to be an excellent communicator, fluent in English and able to interact confidently with all levels in the company.
This is not a back-office or back-of-warehouse role as you will also have to attend to Distributors quickly and in a courteous and professional manner in the Service Center. This means working with walk-in clients on a daily basis, so you need to have excellent inter-personal skills.
Duties & Responsibilities
The main duties of this role include, but are not limited to:
Fulfill all warehouse duties and stock related duties, including:
- Receiving, inspection and storage of all goods
- Picking, packing and handing over orders to Distributors, including their pick-up orders
- Performing stock counts both periodically and on cycle count systems
- Unloading of trucks
- Administration – ensure proper document trail and the warehouse management system is properly maintained with accurate data.
- Returns processing
- To lead and conduct quarterly stock checks and cycle counts according to work instructions and procedures
- Prepare pre-advised Pick-Up orders for the correct Pick-Up date.
- Assist and support Walk-in and Service Center when required.
- Willing to work on Saturdays and to attend/work at Company meetings if required.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Qualifications:
- Matric is Essential
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in similar type of environment with a personal high-performance track record
- Previous experience in a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) warehouse
Skills:
- Able to demonstrate good verbal and written skills
- English fluency is a MUST.
- PC literacy. Preferably Excel or Word.
- Qualified to drive fork lift trucks
- Flexible and co-operative (Work outside normal hours).
- Very good inter-personnel skills and a high commitment to Customer Service
- Ability to work under pressure and with changing priorities
- Dexterous and with ability to work quickly and accurately
- Excellent attention to detail
- Self-motivated, able to work alone / within a small group
- Very good administration and telephone skills
- Remain calm and friendly under all circumstances
- Team player
Package & Remuneration
Casual Rates will apply. This is not a permanent role and a daily pay rate will apply.
