My Client who runs a very successful start-up Logistics Company is urgently seeking an Operations Supervisor to ensuresthat the operational key performance indicators are always met. This role is absolutely crucial!!! Must come from a Logistics background!!!
This incumbent must possess strong Entrepreneurial skills to start up systems/process and not just someone who will "go with the flow"!!!
Duties & Responsibilities
- The Operations Controller/Supervisor will ensure that the Operations strategy
is implemented and ensuring that the KPIs are all executed optimally. The
following are what needs to be managed:
- Responsible for all SAFETY KPIs in the department
- HR Strategies and tactics are implemented throughout the operations team:
- Training plan implementation
- Performance Management
- Retention/Recruitment Plans
- Disciplinary process management
- Leave Management
- Operations targets to be all met:
- Maximum execution of loads (On Time In Full and Invoiced Correctly – OTIFIC)
- Diesel management and control
- Optimized Route Planning (Journey Management)
- High Driver Utilization
- Optimized Truck Utilization (Low breakdowns and high uptime - Reliability)
- Timeous POD uploading and physical collection and filing
- Optimized customer and supplier communication
- Optimized operational resource management
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Grade 12/Matric
- Completed Tertiary Qualification
- Relevant Operations Supervisory experience
- Exceptional organisational skills
- Possess strong negotiation skills
- Possess strong communication skills
- Motivational skills
- Awareness of internal and external customer needs
- Must be well-spoken & presented
