Our client, Mouton Citrus,  is a leading citrus producer and currently has an opportunity for a dynamic, energetic and experienced Operations Manager to join their management team in the West Coast area.

The purpose of the position is to assume overall responsibility for the successful packaging of the company’s total citrus crop, the operational functioning of the company’s warehouses as a “centre of excellence”, and integrated information management in support of continuous decision making in the company.

The Operations Manager reports directly to the Director: Marketing and Packaging and the key performance areas entail: • The development and implementation of the annual operational plan for packaging • Operational management that entails aspects such as the implementation, planning and control of all processes, including productivity management (overall equipment effectiveness), cost and budget management, quality control • Driving international best practices and innovation • Long-term capacity planning • Effective leadership and human resource management • Maintaining appropriate accreditation and health and safety standards • Building relationships with all role-players, both internally and externally, locally and internationally.

We would like to hear from candidates who meet the following requirements: • Grade 12 with a B.Eng. degree or similar applicable tertiary qualification • Minimum of five years’ relevant experience in an industrial, processing and/or packaging environment • Computer literacy, including Excel and a basic understanding of database systems and BI (business intelligence) reporting • Advanced management and financial skills • Strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills • Ability to work in a team and take initiative • The ability to work in close cooperation with production and marketing personnel to give effect to the company’s strategy.
