Description
Pharmaceutical company seeks a Ocean freight import controller to manage all their incoming shipments
Duties & Responsibilities
Forwarding & clearing of import cargo in accordance with client requirements
Forwarding of Export cargo
Ensuring that all Invoices from are correct and loaded before presentation
Ensure all shipping reports are updated and sent withing the required time specified by the client
Following up and escalate where possible with the relevant stakeholders to ensure that the correct managers are kept updated timeously in terms of their shipments
Package & Remuneration
2 - 5 years experience importing Pharmaceutical products
Experience working on system Cargo wise
Ability to be very adaptable
Highly developed interpersonal, communication and written skills with the ability to liaise professionally at all levels is essential
Ability to work to deadlines, under pressure and after hours as the need arises.
Highly developed negotiation skills.
Sound planning and organisational skills are essential.
Good working knowledge of vessels/Groupage agent’s procedures and tariff structures including landside charges, overstay procedures, fines/rents, demurrage/custody charges, storage, cross haul and detention charges.
