Description
A leading supplier to the food sector is looking for a strong National Procurement Manager to head up their team. The successful candidate will come from a high pressure FMCG environment and have a collective approach.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct research to source the best products and suppliers in terms of the best value, delivery schedules and quality.
- Negotiate and agree contracts, monitoring the quality of service provided.
- Manage and motivate a team of procurement staff
- Liaise between suppliers, manufacturers, internal teams such as supply chain and commercial
- Develop strategies to make sure that cost savings and supplier performance targets are met – or exceeded
- Ensure the security and sustainability of sources of essential products and services
- Forecast price trends and their impact on future activities
- Keep up to date with trends and innovations, regulations and new technology that can impact on the business
- Manage inventory days and values as per the business guidelines and budgets
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Tertiary Degree in Supply Chain Management/Purchasing.
- CIPS qualification.
- 10-12 years experience in a similar managerial role within the FMCG sector
- Commercial and financial awareness as to managing inventory budgets/stock days and keep cost down is a key part of this role
- Strong analytical abilities
- Good understanding of forecasting modules
