This position fulfils the critical function of ensuring operational oversight of procurement and sourcing processes, as well as end to end delivery of product to a customer. Duties & Responsibilities

The Merchandising Intern will fulfil a critical role in ensuring end to end product delivery and analysis for Browns Jewellers.

The successful incumbent for this role is required to ensure that the right product is in the right place at the right time, thus ensuring effective supply and merchandising of key products.

This position reports to the Category Manager.

This role entails the following key performance areas:

  • Managing levels and distribution of store stock
  • Handling supplier / production problems as they arise
  • Assessing sales performance of different ranges
  • Raising replenishment orders
  • Ad hoc functions that serve the dynamic needs of the company which, includes travel to stores if required.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and competency in Microsoft Office applications. This competency will be tested.

  • A track record of following through on commitments
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal ability
  • Dynamic and must be able to move between departments as and when required and demonstrate flexibility.
  • Own transport and valid driver’s license are a requirement

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Tertiary degree in relevant field (B. Com Consumer Science, B. Com Marketing). An Honours degree is advantageous.
  • Energetic and dynamic, takes initiative and high performance oriented.
  • Previous leadership roles (formal and informal).
  • Any experience in the retail industry is advantageous
