Description
plan, organize, lead and control resources to meet the production schedule and to ensure smooth running of the Manufacturing Department.
Key Performance Areas:
• Inventory Management:
o Investigates and reports unresolved issues to the Manager;
o Plans and organises stock count by allocating resources;
o Monitors and controls stock continuously by visual inspection.
• People Management:
o Plans daily labour output, time and machinery for weekly production plans;
o Manages staff performance by continual evaluation of output;
o Investigates deviations and initiates disciplinary action as per company procedures within the timelines.
o Conducts performance appraisals bi-annually.
• Document Control:
o Ensures all documentation is completed and filed per expected standard;
o Investigates, initiates and resolves AR’s.
• Production & Planning:
o Executes production plan OTIF, utilizing available resources within overtime budget.
• Equipment Management:
o Ensures equipment is used as per procedure (fit for purpose) and monitors for breakdown/ maintenance action.
Skills Required:
• Ability to prioritize and cope under pressure
• Accuracy/attention to detail essential
• Strong ability to manage people
• Problem solving and ability to show initiative
• Report writing
• Good verbal and written English
• Computer literate (Microsoft office)
Experience:
• 5 Years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of SYSPRO or a similar system
• Good understanding of a Quality Management System
Qualifications:
• Grade 12 including Mathematics
