Description
A Manufacturing Concern in Roodepoort requires the services of a well rounded plant engineer with strong acumen and experience in manufacturing. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the steel and/or wire industry.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The prospective candidate will be responsible for all planned and preventative machine maintenance of the complete plant.
- The prospective candidate will be required to implement strategies aligned to the strategic initiatives of the company and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.
- Commit to the implementation, development and improvement of plant safety procedures.
- Creating and maintaining of equipment information files.
- Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimising unnecessary costs whilst maintaining quality standards.
- Identification of all equipment and specifications on plant and creating maintenance flow charts.
- Identification of and maintaining all critical spares.
- Analyse equipment performance with respect to energy efficiency.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to conduct evaluations independently according to requested procedures and leading with initiative.
- Solid understanding of a manufacturing plant and manufacturing environment
- Ability to be flexible and work under pressure
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to conduct investigations independently into product quality and plant process issues, and applying preventative actions plans.
- Good interpretation of technical information and problem solving techniques and/or principles
Desired qualifications and experience
- B-Eng, or B-Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 3 to 5 years proven experience in a leadership position gained in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in change management activities is required.
- Experience in plant processes, machining and final assembly is preferred.
- Experience in the application of preventive maintenance techniques and a advance degree of computer literacy is essential.
- Attention to detail and results driven with a proven track record.
