Our client is looking for someone to join there dynamic team to support mission critical applications in the Telecommunications Sector

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Understand how different systems integrate into an application and understand that the call flow is important to do trouble shooting.
  • Tellecommunication experience and knowledge will be beneficial.
  • Deliver support in a team environment, supporting a variety of platforms and products
  • Be on 24/7 standby when required
  • Check the health of the system periodically during office hours and after hours when you are on standby;
  • Liaise between the client’s support department and GlobeTOM third line support;
  • Perform basic trouble shooting on the system if a problem is detected;
  • Correct problems detected on the system or implement a work around
  • Log and manage action requests for problems detected on the system;
  • Assist with the testing of new functionality;
  • Assist with roll-out of new functionality.
  • Specialization on a specific product set or technology platform
  • Knowledge transfer to team members
  • Logging of time spent on support tasks using the GlobeTOM Management Information System.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent, or similar industry experience.

At least 2 year’s experience as Application Support enigineer in a Linux environment.

Good working knowledge of Linux.
