Description
Our client is looking for someone to join there dynamic team to support mission critical applications in the Telecommunications Sector
Duties & Responsibilities
- Understand how different systems integrate into an application and understand that the call flow is important to do trouble shooting.
- Tellecommunication experience and knowledge will be beneficial.
- Deliver support in a team environment, supporting a variety of platforms and products
- Be on 24/7 standby when required
- Check the health of the system periodically during office hours and after hours when you are on standby;
- Liaise between the client’s support department and GlobeTOM third line support;
- Perform basic trouble shooting on the system if a problem is detected;
- Correct problems detected on the system or implement a work around
- Log and manage action requests for problems detected on the system;
- Assist with the testing of new functionality;
- Assist with roll-out of new functionality.
- Specialization on a specific product set or technology platform
- Knowledge transfer to team members
- Logging of time spent on support tasks using the GlobeTOM Management Information System.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent, or similar industry experience.
At least 2 year’s experience as Application Support enigineer in a Linux environment.
Good working knowledge of Linux.
