Duties & Responsibilities
Sales
Selling of jewellery which entails:
- communication of the Browns difference
- Sharing the amazing stories behind Browns Jewellery
- Understanding and communicating the benefits of the product
- Presenting the jewellery in a professional and sophisticated manner.
Operations
- Knowledge of and using internal systems in order to execute on sales processes
- Proficiency and competence in the entire store operations processes which includes but is not limited to:
- Opening and closing of the store
- Retagging of jewellery
- Stock takes
- Inter-branch processes
- Making up and receiving POD bags
- Repair and collection order processes
- Logging of tickets
- Merchandising
- Banking
- High value processes
- Filing and any other general administration
- Following up on personal trade and leads
- Manual procedures
- Accepted payment methods
- Certification
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Minimum qualification is high school matriculation or grade 12
- A diploma or degree is advantageous
- A proven and successful sales record is important. Retail sales experience is advantageous, however not a prerequisite. Jewellery retail experience is not a prerequisite
- Thorough understanding that Browns operates during retail hours and acceptance of shift work which, entails working three weekends in a four-week month
- Fluent in English both in the spoken and written language. Mastery of a foreign language is advantageous
- Computer literacy is essential; Microsoft suite as well as Outlook
- Preference will be given to individuals who envision a long-term career in retail
- Maturity and the ability to connect at a high level is essential
- Individuals have to be brand aligned i.e. classic, elegant & sophisticated in both appearance and demeanour, as well as possess a positive, all-rounder attitude.
- Candidates must be willing to undergo criminal record, bad debt and drug assessments
