Description

Responsible for the overall control and management of the logistics function. Plan, implement and controls the efficient, effective forward and reverse flow and storage of assets, services and related information of the company involving inventory control within the geographic location of South Africa.

Duties & Responsibilities

Internal

  • Manage and control inventory within warehouse(s) and store(s)
  • Conduct stock takes
  • Planning material requirements (MRP)
  • Continuously keep an accurate record of all backup and consignment stock
  • Action warranty and repairs requests
  • Ensure that warranty parts are returned to OEM in required timeframe
  • Manage repair cycle
  • Action of stock distribution – Receiving & Dispatching
  • Manage the distribution and delivery of stock to the internal and external clients
  • Log and review - Receives, logs, validates completeness and practicality of PO's, spares issued, goods receipts, stock order transfers and purchase requests
  • Coordination - Routes quotes for appropriate authority for approval.  Progresses and tracks SAP open requests through to completion.  Close SAP open requests
  • Contribute to process compliance and improvement
  • Comply to set policies, processes and contractual agreements
  • Environment rules and regulation compliance
  • Ensure that the neatness and general tidiness of warehouse(s) and store(s) are maintained continuously.
  • Ensure that all backup equipment is stored, packaged and handled according to the current National Logistics Standard and relevant policy.
  • Continually ensure that all health and safety requirements within the warehouse or store environment are not only met but also adhered to
  • Ensure compliance to all security measurements and regulations within environment is upheld and maintained by self and others

  • Sending out of accurate communications (e.g. ETA's, escalations and risks)
  • Maintain relationships with internal and external clients
  • Effectively build and maintain good relationships and interactions with others
  • Management of business communication

  • Reinforces team approach throughout practice both on client projects and internal initiatives.
  • Supports and solicits input from team members at all levels within the organization.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Knowledge & Experience

  • 3- 5 years’ experience in logistics/stock control/store keeping/warehouse management year experience in logistics/stock control/store keeping/warehouse management
  • Must have a valid SA driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12
  • Safety training courses e.g., SHE Q, would be advantageous
  • Qualification (NQF 4) in Logistics/Stock Control/Store Keeping/Warehouse Management
