Responsibilities
A brief outline of the expected responsibilities of this post follows:
- Opening and closing the pool each day according to scheduled hours
- Regularly treating the pool with the correct amount of chemicals
- Being on hand and responding to any emergencies in the Aquatic Centre
- Closely monitoring activities related to the pool area and identifying any safety issues throughout the shift
- Directing swimmers out of water in dangerous conditions
- Closely monitoring weather reports to make sure guests and swimmers remain safe
- Providing Learn to Swim lessons and coaching swimming and water polo teams
- Maintaining a clean pool environment
- Any other duties as advised by your manager
Qualifications
- NSC
- CPR and first aid certification
- Successful completion of pre-employment in-water practical skills test
- Experience in coaching swimming teams and teaching swimming lessons
- A minimum of two years of experience as a lifeguard
- Learn to swim qualification
