Description
  • Lecturing Primary Health Care Nursing in the post-basic/postgraduate Diploma programme.
  • Clinical teaching of the Primary Health Care Nursing post-basic/postgraduate students in the accredited training  units.
  • Theoretical and clinical assessments in the programme.
  • Involvement in curriculum development.
  • Take responsibility for all academic and quality related activities regarding the Primary Health Care Nursing in the post-basic/postgraduate Diploma programme.
  • Assist with accreditation of health care facilities as required by the South African Nursing Council.
  • Assist in the Department with additional educational related activities where a need is identified by the HOD or programme coordinator, to enhance the quality of delivering programmes.
  • To assist where needed with the assessment of undergraduate students.
  • Engage in postgraduate supervision.
  • Responsible for conducting and publishing own research and
  • Participate in community engagement projects in the Department.
Profile
  • Master's Degree in Primary Health Care Nursing Science and registered for a PhD qualification or commitment to register soon after commencement of duties for a PhD.
  • Registered with SANC as a professional nurse and midwife.
  • Registered with SANC with the qualification: Clinical Nursing, Diagnosis, Treatment and Care (R48).
  • Professional registration with SANC as a Nurse Educator.
  • At least three (3) years' experience in the academic teaching of Primary Health Care Nursing at tertiary level.
  • At least three (3) years' experience in the specialised nursing discipline of Primary Health Care Nursing: (Clinical Nursing, Diagnosis, Treatment and Care R48).
  • Experience in clinical accompaniment of post-basic/postgraduate primary health care students.

  • Proficiency in English (Verbal and written).
  • Computer literacy and implementation thereof in educational settings of contact and mobile learning.
  • Have strong work ethic.
  • Show adaptability in the teaching and learning environment in becoming an active team-player in the Department, who addresses possible challenges in the environment in a pro-active manner.
