Purpose of the Job

A senior role, reporting into the Head of Academy that is accountable for owning the overall end-to-end learning and development practice process. The successful incumbent will act as the subject matter expert and thought leadership advocate for digital adoption and digital learning. This role will also be responsible for developing, managing, and expanding the digital learning and development practice, providing industry expertise to stakeholders.  Responsibilities also include providing expert advice and influence the business about key Digital Learning policies, processes, frameworks and models such as learning and development and organisational matters in alignment to the strategic objectives of the business. The ideal candidate will be able to craft an innovative, forward-looking strategy while clearly outlining the lead to changes to digital learning.

Duties & Responsibilities

Digital Learning:

  • Acting as a thought leader in defining the digital roadmap and priorities for the Academy Department
  • Defining and implementing a strategic approach to digital learning
  • Leading the design and creation of digital learning solutions, including high-quality learning content
  • Translating organisational strategy into appropriate digital learning and development strategies and plans initiatives
  • Establishing best practice in content development, materials, media and testing, including the creation of design templates
  • Actively integrating learning strategies with digital learning solutions to create and sustain a digital learning experience
  • Driving the implementation and execution of a digital learning strategy across the business
  • In collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, driving seamless integration of new learning digital platforms into the business to maximise the end user experience
  • Utilising multiple digital channels and opportunities to interface with end users during training to help shift the organisational culture to be engaged in the digital transformation
  • Design and implementing digital training and development programmes
  • Ensuring that the efficiency and effectiveness of digital capabilities and processes are continuously enhanced and improved
  • Researching industry leading trends and new technologies to enhance learning
  • Keeping abreast of the external environment, ensuring that digital astuteness continues within the business
  • Researching new technologies and methodologies in workplace learning and presenting these recommendations to the ManCo, HR and the relevant stakeholders
  • Analysing and interpreting data and information from all available sources to identify opportunities to create value for the business

Learning & Development (L&D):

  • Researching new technologies and methodologies in workplace learning and presenting these recommendations to ManCo, HR and the relevant management stakeholders
  • In partnership with relevant stakeholders, identifying performance gaps and determining learning and development needs
  • Designing and/or sourcing L&D programmes that meet business needs now and in the future, considering the changing world of work
  • Ensuring compliance with Skills Development legislation
  • Developing or sourcing team development programmes to promote collaboration and team effectiveness
  • Developing or sourcing coaching and mentoring capacity to support employee, leadership development, transformation and resource management

Stakeholder and Team Management:

  • Collaborating with key business stakeholders to ensure understanding the PPS Learning Requirements
  • Engaging and partnering closely with various learning stakeholders to advise, guide and enable the digital learning agenda within a specific focus area to ensure integration
  • Implementing and maintaining service level agreements
  • Effectively communicate the strategic digital learning narrative aligned to business requirements; uses varied communication vehicles and opportunities to promote dialogue, shared understanding and consensus
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to optimise business performance
  • Providing team leadership ensuring the effective implementation of strategy through leadership of the management team (setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal) in order to ensure that the highest level of performance is achieved
  • Creating a healthy and enabling organisational culture and climate so that all employees are able to perform to their full potential and overall performance is maximised
  • Creating a stimulating and safe environment that inspires innovation and new initiatives
  • Creating a culture of high performance and manage performance of the team effectively
  • Mentoring team members as needed or required; conducts peer review of key deliverables
  • Creating an environment where people are encouraged to take ownership and use their initiative to find the best way of implementing plans
  • Ensuring that staff have the knowledge and skills to execute their deliverable, validating that training programmes are adequate
  • Responsible for hiring and retaining staff, career coaching, personal development for direct reports and accountable for the performance of employees

Desired Experience & Qualification

Formal Qualification:

  • Relevant Bachelors’ degree in HR management/commercial or any other relevant field experience
