Description

Our company is looking for a suitable qualified and experienced Law Enforcement Agency Analyst to join our dynamic team.

Purpose of the Job: 

To ensure the efficient analysis and tracking and professional feedback of information and evidence requested by Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs), Regulatory Bodies, investigative authorities, as well as other lawful requests for data, within the agreed time frames and court dates applicable to the requests received.

Duties & Responsibilities

Law Enforcement Agency Requests.

  • Document and register all requests in accordance with approved Forensic Services’ processes and procedures.
  • Acknowledge requests and respond to LEAs, Regulatory Bodies, investigative authorities, as well as other lawful requests and internal queries within one day of receiving the request in writing.
  • Ensure that allocated requests from LEAs, Regulatory Bodies, investigative authorities, as well as other lawful requests for data are analysed, completed and finalised within the agreed or prescribed time frames.
  • Provide requested data to the SAPS and other agencies within the pre-agreed schedule.
  • Provide archive data within the pre-agreed time period as discussed and agreed with management.
  • Testify in a court of law, under oath, as an expert witness as to information provided to the legal authorities.
  • Provide and assist business units with all call detail requests in line with company policy.
  • Ensure that all after hour requests are actioned timeously.
  • Ensure that information is submitted in the agreed format or in the agreed template.
  • Assist with implementation of quality assurance procedures

Interception and Monitoring Requests

  • Ensure that all requests for interception and monitoring are properly analysed, documented and registered in accordance with the approved Forensic Services’ processes and procedures.
  • Acknowledge receipt of all requests for interception and monitoring in writing.
  • Ensure that all allocated requests for interception and monitoring are analysed and completed and within the agreed or prescribed time lines.
  • Complete all allocated requests received from the Office of Interception (OIC) as instructed on the warrants.
  • Support data provided by providing proof of factual information when questioned.
  • Report any access control breakdowns in the LIMS office to management.
  • Ensure that all after hours’ requests are done when received.
  • Assist with the management of the Legal Interception and Monitoring system (LIMS).
  • Assist with regular backups of the LIMS.
  • Provide feedback to management on possible issues and matters pertaining to the LIMS system.

Document Maintenance & Report Generation

  • Complete and sign Affidavit as per analytical findings.
  • Generate and maintain monthly feedback report.
  • Provide monthly report on all enquiries, requests and archived requests received.
  • Provide input to ensure that all policies, procedures and processes pertaining to the function of the LEA support section are reviewed on a regular basis and are kept up to date.
  • Ensure that accurate record keeping is completed on a daily basis.
  • Ensure the standby MSISDN is always allocated and answered for LEA after hour’s requests.

Health and Safety Compliance.

  • Conform and adhere to Safety, Health and Environmental legislative requirements
  • Report any health and safety concerns/incidents in the workplace to the manager/health and safety representative
  • Assist Cell C to establish and maintain a fully compliant Healthy and Safe Work Environment
  • Attend the Safety, Health and Environmental workshops as required by management

Perform any other related duties as requested by Management

  • Assist with the performance of ad hoc reviews, forensic investigations and other tasks as and when requested to do so.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ accumulated experience in telecom, analytics, court experiences, documentation of legal legislative matters for court records.
  • Police Experience (2 years) is preferable
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally, as well as in writing.  This includes demonstrated report writing skills
  • Computer Literacy including Microsoft 2000, Microsoft XP and Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to develop new solutions is preferable
  • Own transport
  • Demonstrated ability to work and deliver under pressure and within strict time frames
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
