Requirements:

Tertiary quality-related qualification

Relevant experience in quality and/or in a lab, preferably some exposure to manufacturing

Computer literate NB – quality system + Excel essential

Attention to detail, strong administrator

Systems and process driven

Able to multitask and prioritise

Be present/available in the lab at all times to field queries/questions

Strong communication skills – able to interact confidently with external clients and auditors telephonically and face to face

Supervisory/coordination skills

Honest – be prepared to dig, not let things slip, not hide things

The Lab Technician will not directly manage 2 QC's but will have to co-ordinate and monitor their activities in the lab over and above supervising all other functions in the lab.

Key tasks:

Quality system ISO9001 implementation and maintenance

Problem solve ISO issues (collect info, traceability, testing, samples, follow protocol)

Manage SOP and NQR processes

Involvement in accreditation testing/material testing

Accurate storage of samples

Administration – loading requisitions, recording inconsistencies, capturing data onto quality system, reporting

Customer interaction (including external clients, audits)
