Oakley House High School in Diep River, Cape Town is an independent, co-educational school specialising in supporting individuals with specific learning difficulties.

Responsibilities
The junior skills class consists of 13-15 year-old students following a 3-year, largely skill-based program that includes functional literacy, numeracy and integrated studies. While well-established, we are looking for someone with a heart for helping less capable young teens be their best, to further expand this program within the context of the greater Vocational stream.
The position will commence as soon as workable, ideally the start of Term 3, 2023 (17 July)
The ideal candidate would be:
- Intermediate Phase or Senior Phase trained
- In possession of at least five years teaching experience, preferably with Special Needs exposure
- Passionate about working with young teens with Special Needs, and with a calm, patient and caring disposition
- A dedicated and excellent teacher
- Keen on being innovative and ‘owning’ their program
- Able to run a single-person department, and work independently and with others
- Equipped with excellent planning, organisational, communication and administrative skills, and attention to detail.
- Registered with SACE (please include SACE number in the application)
