Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure production schedules are met by liaising with Supply Chain and Business Development Manager regarding customer demand
- Planning and scheduling the pacer plan and any changes in customer demand
- Communicating planning schedules effectively with Value Stream supervisors
- Completing planned production on time
- Identify production problems and discuss possible solutions to achieve plan achievement
- Monitor production output daily and implement actions to improve performance
- Ensure acceptable quality levels are maintained according to acceptable standards
- Motivate employees to improve quality of products in manufacturing
- Hold daily production meetings
- Ensure immediate attention is given to breakdowns of plant and equipment
- Measure performance against budget, investigate and follow up on areas of poor performance, implement actions to improve budgetary performance
- Control labour costs by controlling overtime and maintaining production efficiencies
- co-ordinate efforts in the production departments to improve performance through a process of ongoing improvement
Desired Experience & Qualification
- At least four years experience in a management position
- Previous exposure to work place improvement planning and implementation
- Excellent motivational and man management skills
- Production Management Diploma
- Higher Diploma or Degree in Operations Management advantageous
