This is a 1 year renewable contract. International Company (with branches in Menlyn and Midrand) is recruiting a Full Stack Java Developer with 8 years’ experience (South African citizens only). Must have valid driver’s license and own reliable car. Local travelling between Menlyn (Pretoria) and Midrand branch required and international travelling to Europe.

Travelling:

• Local travelling between Menlyn (Pretoria) and Midrand branch per week.
• Must be prepared to travel for up to 2 weeks at a time (international).

• Development and maintenance on platform / application.
• Meet with end users and gather requirements.
• Propose and review system design and evaluate alternatives.
• Review and present proposed system solution to IT Project Manager / Leader and User Management or System owner.
• Develop systems solutions in line with quality and delivery requirements.
• Preparation of system/technical documentation.
• System testing and system implementation.

• Minimum of 8 year’s Java Full Stack development experience required.
• Must have extensive knowledge in web technologies to be able to implement web sites using JavaScript. These web applications will need to be able to access Web API’s that exposes business logic from the back-end to the web applications.
• Must have experience in enterprise application integrations to different systems.

• Strong ability to understand and interpret business needs and requirements with the ability to move concepts through to proposal and finally successful implementation
• Should be willing to deal with (talk to) our customers. In most cases they will be foreign customers and language barriers might exist
• Flexibility to take up different tasks in the project
• Ability and willingness to coach and give training to fellow colleagues and users when require
