Description
Duties:
- Lead the South African IT team, supporting and defining the strategic objectives.
- Reviews business requirements, and communicates objectives or initiatives from the team to the rest of the organisation.
- Provide strategic and management support to the local IT Team. Develop initiatives to address responsibility gaps and grow the team’s capabilities.
- Oversee the design and install new systems whenever existing infrastructure needs to be updated or new site implementations.
- Be the key contact person for South African IT for third-party providers.
- Continuously develop and maintain existing infrastructure to maintain high availability and security best practices.
- Maintain and develop a high level IT cyber security across the assets and systems in South Africa.
- Develop, support the development and maintain IT management policies, such as management of change, hardware and software life cycle, etc.
- Provide support to the Networking team to support the business networking infrastructure projects.
Job Experience & Skills Required:
Qualifications:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Bachelor’s Degree in an IT Related Field (Information Technology, Science/Computer Science)
- CCNA or JNCIA certification or equivalent
- ITIL or other relevant IT service management qualifications
- Recognised project management certification
Experience:
- 8/10 years of relevant experience IT experience
- 3 years of experience managing a multi-skilled team as well as contractors
- Enterprise-level and infrastructure experience is a MUST!
Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent customer relationship management skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Well-organised and able to manage time well for both themselves and team
- Resource management, including IT budget management
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Good team player; able to balance team and individual responsibilities
- Willing to develop skills further, specifically in developing skills in IT infrastructure and software
