Description

Duties & Responsibilities

  • To design and create the IT Programme Plan (with internal and partner input).
  • To plan, manage and control the resource requirements for optimal set up of the IT sub-project structure for the programme.
  • To plan, manage and control the budget for the programme.
  • To define the programme controls from an IT perspective to manage the programme’s delivery via its IT project managers.
  • To manage programme risks and issues for IT and drive solutions to overcome them.
  • To manage and drive stakeholder communication and reporting from an IT perspective and aid in the creation of a unified, enthusiastic technology vision of the programme.
  • To manage, guide and coordinate IT project managers of sub-projects within the programme to ensure they plan, organise and control activities and align project level deliverables to IT programme plan.

 

Deliverables:

1. Design and implement the overall IT Programme Plan, including:

  • Defining IT objectives, scope, impacts, outputs, cost, benefits and success criteria in collaboration with business champions, the programme sponsor and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Design a co-ordinated IT operational structure for programme delivery that aligns sub projects to programme delivery. Defining the programme’s governance structure and quality assurance model.
  • To ensure delivery of the required IT output/(s) for each phase of the programme.
  • Create and control all IT programme management artefacts and reports. Provide the IT programme status report and communication updates at regular frequency.

 

2. Manage the IT programme risks and issues (Programme Issue Log)

  • Identify and mitigate issues and risks that may negatively impact the programme.
  • Track, escalate and manage key decisions, unresolved issues and risks that affect IT delivery of the programme.

 

3. Ensure effective budget control of the IT Programme

  • Manage the programme budget and forecast cost requirements.
  • Monitor, track and manage programme level expenditure by analysing variances and initiating corrective action.

 

4. Manage and support the IT project managers within the programme

  • Plan, manage and control project managers within the programme to ensure individual project progress aligns to programme commitments.

 

5. Effective management of quality and processes

  • Apply IT quality management principles and processes into the programme.
  • Ensure all work is conducted and aligned to Woolworth’s IT standards and processes.

 

6. Effective IT stakeholder management and reporting

  • Build and manage stakeholder relationships (stakeholder matrix, RACI).
  • Conduct regular programme reviews and accurately communicate the status of the programme from an IT perspective.
  • Provide programme reports and status updates according to the Woolworths ITS methodology.
  • Establish and update plans with actuals and forecasts.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Programme /Project Management certification
  • Proven track record in retail transformation programme planning and delivery
