We are uniquely positioned incorporating mining, processing, beneficiation, marketing, sales and logistics.” Tharisa Minerals Mine is situated near the town of Marikana in the North West Province, and is seeking to appoint a qualified candidate to the following position:
Duties & Responsibilities
Purpose of Role
The Instrumentation Manager is responsible for ensuring legal compliance, provide direction in terms of all instrumentation aspects, and implement instrumentation strategies and policies whilst ensuring effective asset management for the department.
Technical work responsibilities:
Ensure critical daily maintenance tasks are executed; Plan shutdown activities; Continuous improvement of asset care management; Legal inspections and close out of the action plans.
Core work outputs:
Ensure legal compliance as per Mine Health and Safety Act 29 of 1996; Ensure optimum availabilities of plant equipment; Continuous improvement of all Instrumentation functionalities and safety systems; Ensure training and development of the subordinates.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Degree / Diploma or NQF level 7 Industry related Qualification; Trade Certificate in Measurement, Control & Instrumentation; Minimum 7 years in the plant environment and demonstrated successful Tier 3 project execution, Programmable Logic Control systems (SIEMENS, ALLEN BRADLEY, etc.) Experience on Asset Care Principles; Computer literacy.
