Description
Our client a large vegetable manufacturer based in the Outer West Durban Area (Hammersdale) is looking for a HR Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities
RECRUITMENT & SELECTION
- Responsible for recruitment & selection of all staff
- Obtain job description and draw up advert, screen applicants, conduct interviews and do reference check
- Ensure that employment contracts conform to company policy & legislation
- Notify all unsuccessful candidates
- Draw up offer of employment document and arrange pre medical examination
- Ensure that all the appointment documentation is sent to Head Office for processing
TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT
- Responsible for administering study aid
- Do training need analysis
- Administering and reporting on all training events and development plans of employees
- Do induction training for new employees
- Ensure that performance management system is in place and act on the career development initiatives for the individual
- Capture al training and events
- INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS
- Responsible for smooth day to day running of the business
- Advice Line Management on changes in the Labor Law/ Legislation
- Conduct disciplinary hearings
- Take part in annual wage negotiations
- Have Monthly Management / Shop steward meetings
- Provide/ Source IR training for Supervisory level employees
- HR ADMIN
- Ensure that the contract of employment adhere to company policies
- Capture and reconciliation of leave
- Responsible for all staff changes and pay queries to ensuring that they adhere or are altered according to company policy
- Update all job descriptions on a regular basis
- Submit all reports or HR stats on a monthly basis
- Implement changes ito condition of employment as per legislation or substantive agreements
- Administer housing assistance scheme
- Administer Provident & Pension fund queries and claims
GENERAL
- Send out a weekly brief to all on site
- Daily update of efficiency and manning charts
- Responsible for organizing year end function
- Administer EAP’s with the assistance of the Occ Health Nurse
- Responsible for risk audits
Desired Experience & Qualification
Must have worked in a unionized environment and have dealt with shop stewards and wage negotiations
Own transport
5 years experience in a Manufacturing Environment
HR Diploma/ Relevant Tertiary Qualification
