Description
To partner with line management, providing an effective, value adding HR service to meet the demands of a high performance organisation. Proactively interact with line management and employees through the delivery of professional human resource management services as a dymanic business partner.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Market the HR department by being visible and available on the shop floor and promoting the Company’s values and code of ethics.
- “One–stop-shop” for line management using HR administration, shared services and centres of expertise.
- Create organisational awareness by staying abreast of activities in the business unit and by networking with sister units.
- Participate in incident investigations and deliver HR input and solutions.
- Responsible for unit departmental budgets and head count requirements.
- Compile month-end reports with a qualitative summary of statistics for the departments (overtime trends, etc.)
- Facilitate shop floor IR, consistently applying the disciplinary code and procedure.
- Provide IR training and continuous on-the-job training / coaching of line managers and employees.
- Compile case summaries for CCMA/Bargaining Council referrals keeping records for future reference.
- Involvement in community services by dealing with domestic issues and taking ownership of housing for new recruits.
- Coordinate the disability application and health care process.
- Conduct stay and exit interviews providing qualitative reports to line management and HR and dealing with resultant issues.
- Initiate succession planning and career paths aligned with business unit requirements.
- Coordinate performance assessment process and compile qualitative reports.
- Conduct on-boarding and unit orientation for new employees and continuously benchmark and enhance induction programs.
- Understand and comply with HR legislation including internships, Workplace Skills Plan and EE plan.
- Ensure effective recruitment and selection in conjunction with Shared Services as per business processes and according to the recruitment strategy and employment equity targets.
- Processing monthly payroll and month end reports.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Matriculated with Exemption pass or higher is an advantage
- Work experience of five years within a manufacturing, unionized environment
- Human Resource qualification – NQF 6
Dimensions/ KPI's
- Ensure HR reporting and analysis are delivered to customers on a monthly basis through running and interpreting of Accsys reports.
- Line managers are assisted with interventions regarding employee relations such as grievance and discipline handling.
- Interventions are facilitated to measure and improve employee engagement such as implementing improvement plans in departments.
- The company complies with statutory and legal compliance, through scheduled training and audits conducted.
- The annual workforce planning process is facilitated and Line managers conform to quality standards
