Top International Company within the Financial Services industry seeks a HR Business Partner with experience working in the financial service industry.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Working closely with, listening to and understanding the needs and priorities of the Business Area.
  • Analysing HR insight provided by HR operations
  • Using the data to inform the people strategy for their pillar/location, implement actions and ensure fit for purpose and cost effective solutions are provided by Centres of Expertise.
  • Being the ‘voice of the Business Area’ within HR, and the HR and employee champion in the Business Area, ensuring line managers are educated on the correct HR processes and contacting the right team.
  • Has ultimate accountability for HR for their pillar/location and acts as an HR ‘touchpoint’ at a senior level and an escalation point to unblock issues and obstacles. Works with the COE teams to ensure an exceptional service is delivered to the business.
  • Ensuring that HR are appropriately engaged with Business Area - ensuring the right HR expert is engaged with the right business area at the right time – making use of the model.
  • Works as a Coach to local senior managers – has regular 121 sessions to build relationships and support with any people related challenges
  • Challenges and supports – asking the right questions to improve performance.
  • Carries out organisational design for their area and leads organisational change to ensure structures are fit for purpose and able to effectively deliver for the business.
  • Appropriately facilitating and enabling resourcing/budget discussions that allow alignment of planned HR initiatives and deployment.
  • Supporting recruitment for senior roles or key talent for the pillar and/or team(s) ensure roles are filled to the highest standard
  • Supporting senior management in implementing solutions in line with the people agenda and in line with the people strategy
  • Acting as the performance improvement driver, challenge the status quo and is an advocate of positive changes in people management. Ensure the delivery of performance management check-ins for their area.
  • Design succession plans for key talents and key job positions and work with managers to ensure they are pipelining talent internally and externally.
  • Check in with new starters – 90-day onboarding
  • Understand the engagement results for the area and use the insight to inform key people initiatives to ultimately improve engagement
  • Deliver key training that has been designed centrally to improve overall performance of the area e.g. line manager basics training, performance management training

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Financial services industry experience
  • University degree or relevant professional qualification in Human Resources
  • 3 Years working at the level of HR Business Partner
  • Strong commercial acumen and able to lead an HR agenda aligned to business strategy
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks and requirements
  • An in-depth knowledge of, and practical experience of applying current employment law and legislation (e.g. LRA, BCEA, EE, Skills Development Legislation)
