Our client, the largest grower, packer, and exporter of South African citrus has an exciting opportunity available for a suitably experienced Human Resources Generalist (an Officer / Advisor level appointment).

PURPOSE OF ROLE:

Located at the Company’s facility in Kirkwood (± 80 km’s from Port Elizabeth), you will act as the first point of contact for HR-related queries from employees and management.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Human Resources Manager (located at a different site) you must implement and maintain all HR policies and compliance procedures at this particular facility.
  • You will be expected to take responsibility for co-ordinating the HR functions of the site (which include Recruitment and Selection, all Industrial Relations and Disciplinary actions, Leave and Remuneration, Employee Relations, L &D) whilst following and implementing the team’s HR strategies in alignment with the overall organisational strategy.
  • With a strong focus on Learning and Development in the factory, you will be accountable for and must ensure that, all L&D processes are well organised, co-ordinated, and executed.
  • In addition, all employee training profiles must be updated in a timely manner
  • Being able to build trust-based relationships with both employees and management is of paramount importance and evidence of past experience in this area is essential.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Minimum 5 years of HR generalist experience, preferably gained in a production / manufacturing environment.
  • Completed tertiary qualification in Human Resources.
  • A thorough (working) knowledge of the South African Laws,  HR Compliance and Regulations is essential. Sound Knowledge of the LRA and BCEA.
  • SA Citizen with a clear criminal history.
  • A valid driver’s license and own transport.

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS AND CONSIDERATIONS:

  • It is preferable that the incumbent resides in either Kirkwood or nearby Addo.  Limited accommodation is available in both towns.
  • The ability to converse in Afrikaans / isiXhosa is highly advantageous.

Package & Remuneration
