Description
Our client, a Guest House situated in the Paarl area, is looking for a Hospitality Manager to join their team.
Requirements and Previous Experience:
- A recognised 3-year Hospitality Qualification.
- At least 3-years’ strong and solid experience in a food and beverage or restaurant management position.
- Experience in managing a highly motivated team and running daily meetings.
Personal Skills and Attributes:
- Exceptional planning and organisational skills.
- Energetic, outspoken, self-confident and positive.
- Hospitality / Customer driven.
- Great industry knowledge.
Job Description:
- Must be able to work flexible hours.
- Check e-mails and answer queries.
- Seasonal menu planning with the Chef.
- Keeping track of beverage orders during the month.
- Monitoring soon-to-be expiring beverages.
- Restaurant bookings (Mondays to Fridays).
- Birthday parties: kids and adults.
- Décor (entrance foyer and tables inside).
- Floor Manager: supervision / cleanliness / stock orders.
- Checking bathroom roster.
- Checking water flush system roster.
- Retail stock take, stock on hand, orders, expired stock check, specials on products soon to be expiring.
- Following up on retail stock orders, payments and deliveries.
- Sourcing new suitable retail stock suppliers.
- Coffee shop consumables stock and purchasing (for coffees, smoothies, juices).
- Pricing on Semper system for retail stock and Health Shop sales (coffees, juices, smoothies, catering items).
- Recipes for smoothies and juices as well as costing and selling price.
- Daily specials (muffin / quiche / cupcakes).
- Health Shop staff rosters / scheduling and overtime management.
- Making guest house bookings on Semper and checking-in guests: only when needed / emergency.
- Staff uniforms ordering and embroidering.
- Work equipment distribution, maintenance and replacement when needed.
- Monthly beverages stock take.
- Beverage stock on hand monitoring and orders.
- Supervising office, office toilet and reception cleaning and scheduling.
- Overall staff liaising, communications, unity and moral build.
- Staff training.
- Monitoring and approving staff leave applications.
- Monitoring and approving staff overtime and off time balance.
- Coordinating staff birthday celebrations.
- Organising staff end of year functions.
- Liaising with outsourced Marketing Consultant.
- Farm signage.
- Health and Safety compliance.
- Fire extinguishers service yearly.
- Interns applications and placing.
- Alterations to buildings / interiors: sourcing service providers and supervising work.
- Work equipment / machinery maintenance, fixing and replacements.
- First point of contact for Team Leaders.
Starting Date: February 2020
