Century City Property Owners’ Association (CCPOA), functioning as a mini municipality, is responsible for the entire Century City precinct.  Embracing the principles of new urbanism, Century City is a 250ha mixed-use development combining office, retail, residential and leisure components in an integrated, stimulating and aesthetically pleasing urban environment.  Among its unique attractions are the 8km of navigable canals that meander throughout the development and Intaka Island, an award winning wetlands conservation area.

Duties & Responsibilities

They are looking for a Landscape Supervisor who will assist the Horticulturist in all aspects of the design & maintenance of Century City landscaping and management/supervision of horticultural resources.

Job requirements:

  • Assist in the design, upgrade, and maintenance of landscaped gardens within Century City in accordance with the Century City EMP
  • Oversee the seasonal treatments of the gardens and street trees
  • Oversee the Turf grass management program
  • Supervise staff by determining workloads and schedules to ensure that all activities are following standard operating procedures
  • Proactively contribute as a member of the Environmental Division to achieve companywide strategies and objectives.
  • Perform any other reasonable project that may be allocated to you.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum Requirements:

  • National Diploma in Horticulture or related equivalent qualification
  • Two years relevant horticultural experience.
  • Experience in a supervisory position.
  • Code 8 driver’s license.
  • Computer literate.

Competencies Required:

  • Strong organizational, supervision and self-motivational skills are essential.
  • The ability to work efficiently and productively, within a team and without supervision at times.
  • The ability to lead their workforce by example and demonstrate initiative in challenging situations.
  • Knowledge of indigenous plants and propagation practices.
  • Knowledge and interpretation of landscaping designs & site plans, turf grass management practices and arboricultural practices.
  • Knowledge of the basic maintenance of all garden equipment including machinery.
