Description

A leading manufacturing company based within the Midlands is currently seeking a Health and Safety officer to join their award winning team.

Within this role, you would need a relevant tertiary qualification and advanced knowledge of health and safety fundementals with at least 3 years safety experience within a manufacturing environment. A drivers licence is essential.

Duties & Responsibilities

Health and safety within a manufacturing plant

Manage and improve the risk management process to ensure effective mitigation of risks through participation and providing guidance for Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment, Incident and Accidents.

Manage cleaning process.

Manage OHS committee and representative forum to ensure that meeting and audits are conducted; and issues raised and actioned promptly.

Monitor adherence to emergency preparedness including fire drills, first aid and equipment.

Coordinate and improve the health, safety and environmental programs to ensure safe and environmentally sound operations including conducting risk and or safety training as and when required.

Implementation and monitoring of all COVID-19 related protocols including ongoing monitoring of risk profile.

Manage/conduct internal audits to ensure risk compliance.

Provide accurate and timely reporting on system compliance.

Ensure good housekeeping standards are met.

Ensure all records are completed and stored appropriately.

Control and maintenance of all health & safety files.

Monthly audits on all safety files checklist and plant.

Compiling safety files, risk assessments, method statements

Visiting sites on a regular basis to make sure all safety protocols are being adhered to.

Ensure sites are safety compliant.

Attend meetings, assisting with queries and problem solving with all clients on each site

Keeping all legal safety documents up to date with each new change concerning Construction Regulations when needed

Recording and reporting IOD

Ensure that Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is worn by all visitors/employees on site

Ensure that all working equipment/machinery is in a safe and good condition

Ensure that all employees doing the work are adequately trained and competent to the specific task

 

Desired Experience & Qualification

2 - 5 years health and safety experience within a manufactuing plant

Relevent health and safety qualification
