Description
Duties & Responsibilities
This individual will manage and develop the people, competence and frameworks within the Instructional Design environment, whilst fulfilling the role of a skilled Instructional Designer.
A key focus is to design and develop learning solutions including, but not limited to:
- Web-based, instructor led, blended and virtual learning.
- Working independently, as a part of or leading teams of instructional designers, developers, graphic designers, and account/project managers.
Key Responsibilities and/or output areas include, but are not limited to:
- Demonstrates complete mastery of the full spectrum of practice role concepts, tools and approaches and has deep insight into the integration needs with other practices to deliver holistic solutions
- Creates new and original applications, solutions and offerings based on a deep understanding of the client needs
- Involved in the design and delivery of solutions
- Scopes, plans and manages the activities of programs comprising multiple project teams through all stages of the project lifecycle
- Demonstrates the ability to perform across functional areas regardless of role specifics
- Supports the sale of business solutions from cradle to grave
- Establish and maintain credible networks across various client verticals,
- Establishes relationships with industry leaders and leverages these to open new markets
- Introduces innovative sales and account management tools and practices
- Acts as coach, mentor, guide and internal consultation
- Use relevant software to draft screen layouts, graphics and interactions appropriate to the content.
- Produce logical, easy to understand and professional storyboards which can be effectively transferred to the identified medium of delivery.
- Where applicable write the audio script and work with subject matter expert and voice talent to ensure proper pronunciation and style.
- Design quizzes and meaningful course interactions to increase learning and retention.
- As required, work with the developer, voiceover talent, video production, and graphics sources to produce draft and final versions for courses course.
- Assist in production (graphics placement, animations, audio importing and editing) where applicable
- Work with subject matter experts and course sponsors to collect feedback and integrate updates.
- Proof course at multiple stages of the development cycle and document required changes.
- Adhere to project schedules and manage multiple projects simultaneously keeping track of project tasks and status.
- Keep track of billable and non-billable hours and report them as required.
Requirements
- 10+ years proven working experience in instructional design and with instructional technology.
- 5+ years managing people within the Industrial Design field
- Completed Diploma or Degree in a relative field e.g. HR or Learning
- Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models.
- Lesson and curriculum planning skills.
- HTML knowledge advantageous.
