Heritage Hospitality Recruitment have a lovely opportunity available for a Groups & Events Sales Manager for a 5 star hotel in Cape Town.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

▪ Manage and build relationships with MICE accounts (including and not limited to DMC, Corporate, PCO and Embassy accounts) for new and repeat business by conducting sales calls, site inspections, FAM trips.

▪ Conduct site inspections and client entertaining as required

▪ Track and record sales activities and account growth by using available systems and tools.

▪ Prepare sales reports on activities on a weekly basis.

▪ Attend relevant trade fair/exhibitions/networking events and company events as requested by the company.

▪ Assisting the Director of Sales and Marketing in preparations of presentations, market research, sales action plans etc.

▪ Assist in the development and implementation of sales and marketing plans as needed.

▪ Regular communication with relevant teams, ensuring reservations, VIPs, high profile inspections are managed and coordinated well by operational departments.

▪ Responsible for driving the groups and events sales strategy by overseeing and managing the Sales Executive with appropriate targets for revenue generated, appointments conducted, and accounts retained and acquired are met (Groups).

Required Qualifications & Experience

▪ Diploma/Degree from a reputable hotel school advantageous

▪ Minimum of 5 years work experience in luxury Hospitality, Tourism or Hotel Sales & Marketing.

▪ Good knowledge of local hotel business and operations as well as the nature of the travel trade and its requirements.

▪ Knowledge & experience of the hotel / travel trade industry both in domestic & International sectors.

▪ Thorough knowledge of modern Sales & Marketing tools & techniques.

▪ Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.

▪ Self-motivated with a results-driven approach.

▪ High degree of computer literacy. Opera knowledge preferable.

▪ Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization.

▪ Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close.

▪ Strong business sense and industry expertise.
