Description
A vacancy exists for a Group Financial Accountant at Life Healthcare, Head Office. The successful candidate will report to the Group Financial Controller and be responsible for submitting accurate and timeous monthly reports of the financial results to all relevant stakeholders that comply with IFRS as well as adding significant financial expertise in analysing and reporting management results to the Group.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Evaluate the performance and efficiencies of business units against performance contracts and benchmarks.
- Preparation, analysis and distribution of monthly management reports and trading reviews to the business.
- Prepare and analyse financial management reporting information for Executive Management.
- Analyse andĀ interpret monthly revenue to assist in the understanding of the future tariff negotiations.
- Identify, analyse and report on variances against budget for the Group.
- Manage the Groups month end process.
- Process month end journals.
- Prepare general ledger reconciliations.
- Assist in the development of management reports for various departments in order to better understand business performance.
- Assist in valuations of businesses and projects as well as preparation of financial models for various scenarios.
- Co-ordination and assist with the management of the annual Group budgeting process.
- Maintain standard benchmark analysis in the Group.
- Maintain chart of account as well as all related accounting structures.
- Ensure standard account usage throughout the Group to ensure standard policies and account usage throughout the group.
- Prepare annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS and the JSE listing requirements.
- Ensure Group compliance with IFRS.
- Ensure compliance to SARB reporting requirements.
- Preparation of quarterly Reserve Bank and Stats SA surveys.
- Preparation of concise reports for submission to the audit committee.
- Preparation of technical accounting papers to support positions taken.
- Evaluation and application of new IFRS standards when applicable.
- Liaising with external auditors.
- Assist in business due diligence investigations.
- Reporting for various departments on an adhoc basis.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- CA (SA) with 3 years post article experience.
- Good technical IFRS knowledge.
- Relevant commercial experience an advantage.
- Experience in private healthcare or similar industry advantageous.
- Knowledge and experience in systems and process improvements advantageous.
- SAP knowledge and experience advantageous.
- Onestream knowledge and experience advantageous.
- Advanced excel experience.
