The company is on the hunt for a high performing General Manager with 7 – 9 years’ experience in an infrastructure asset management environment to closely monitor solar PV project performance, working in collaboration with contractors and other stakeholders to ensure that the expected plant production is achieved. You are the perfect candidate if you are able to manage plant-based activities throughout all project phases and ensure that any potential risks and threats are identified and mitigated immediately. In addition, you will have great connections and networks within the industry which will assist with managing and fostering key stakeholders’ relationships with lenders, government officials, Eskom and NERSA.
You will be a well-versed leader, ensuring that the site team maintains a high level of motivation and dedication and that their outputs have a positive impact on the solar plant performance. This will be possible through your ability to carefully outline business and operational plans, create and manage budgets, manage warranties and plant guarantees as well as to ensure Economic Development and Socio-Economic Development duties are met. Another part of this position is the knack for report writing – you must be able to compile in depth, detailed reports for management and report to the various boards, bringing them up to speed on project progress. We are looking for a General Manager who can hit the ground running, is clued up on PV system processes and will uphold the health and safety of site employees all while driving plant operations.

Requirements
- Electrical Engineering degree or any other relevant (financial or legal) degree is required
- MBA is beneficial
- 7 – 9 years’ experience within an infrastructure asset management environment
- Must have prior experience in solar energy, preferably in a senior position
- Solid project finance exposure
- Prior experience meeting Enterprise Development and Socio-Economic Development obligations
- Strong networks in the private and public space will be beneficial
- Excellent understanding of health and safety regulations
- Must have proven ability to manage internal and external teams and ensure contractual requirements are seen to
- Strong management and reporting skills
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to navigate government, lenders, contractors and
- Eskom relationships
- Strong MS Office skills
- Exceptional knowledge of PV systems and processes
