Description
The Function Manager is expected to assist with multi-division planning and implementation,aligned with the business strategy,which delivers work process optimisation,service excellence and competitive advantage (expanded value propositions) within each division.This includes meeting the day-to-day operational requirements in line with expected KPIs, KBIs and KVI’s (key performance, behavioural and value indicators), as well as contributing in the creation of new value by identifying and taking advantage of opportunities for innovation and growth.
Duties & Responsibilities
Assist in the improvement of multi-divisional growth, profitability, and turnover, through optimising worksystems and processesthat deliver cross-division productivity (our main divisions include fuel, shop, and food).
Customer value management - understand the ongoing shifts of retail consumer expectations around convenience and personalisation within divisions, build customer relationships, identify, capture, and address customer expectations through expanded value proposition offerings, improve team service in this regard, and increase profitability.
Manage, co-assess, and co-develop agile function teams in terms of the proposed business strategy.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Basic financial knowledge and application skills –the ability to control division costs and think in terms of profit, loss and added value.
Develop and implement expanded value propositions within divisions by interpretationof environment and consumer lifestyle trends.
Basic understanding of accounting and its role within the service station divisions.
Computer proficiency (mainly MS Outlook andExcel).
Fuel and/or food industry experience preferred; or
Sales and marketing experience preferably in a relevant retail environment; or
Multi-division management experience.
Must possess strong Customer Service qualities.
Must have strong leadership ability.
Knowledge of basic labour law.
Manage day-to-day running of the station divisions, merchandising, and stock.
Knowledgeable of HSEQ (health and safety).
Driver’s License.
Own vehicle.
