Description
FMCG client is looking for a qualified Fitter and Turner: The main purpose of the position is to ensure that the factory equipment performs at optimal levels of efficiency by following the maintenance schedule and by actioning continuous improvement projects to make sure it’s maintained at a high level in order to meet the daily Production Plan and OEE targets. To ensure that the Production line equipment is performing at high levels in terms of OEE and Quality.
Duties & Responsibilities
Projects related to line performance and manufacturing performance.
Be accountable for OEE and related KPI’s.
Accountable for the scheduled maintenance plan.
Lead preventative maintenance concepts and programmes.
Set standards and ensure maintenance is being done efficiently and effectively.
Responsible for spares inventory control.
Responsible for ensuring equipment is always running at optimal setting.
Working with the safety officer to develop and Maintain safety standards
As a member of the Maintenance Team, supports the continuous improvement and growth of Team and assist with general site work where needed.
Utilize workshop equipment to make up equipment and spares, as and when needed.

Minimum Requirements
Experience
- 3 to 5 years post qualification in a FMCG environment on high speed packaging and processing equipment preferred
- Report writing
- Able to facilitate and present at meetings.
- Able to undertake responsibility for area of operation.
- Quality awareness.
- GMP
- Computer literate
- The ability to communicate effectively in English (Written and spoken word)
- Facilitate and lead continuous improvement
- Fault analyses and diagnostic skills
- Able to train and pass on knowledge to minor
- Own transport and Valid Driver’s license
- Must be able to work overtime and night shifts on a rotational basis
Qualifications
Matric with a pass in Math and English
N3 qualification with minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Fitter and Turner, or Artisan in plant maintenance, preferably in a FMCG environment.
